The Friday Five

Five Sweet Moments

1. Taking a walk with 9th-grade Rose to talk to her about how she felt when she saw her biological parents for the first time in years.  She couldn't even remember the last time she saw her mom.  I could tell from her smile that she was completely overjoyed!

2. On the soccer field, when Naelle ran into my arms, I swung her around, and we fell to the ground where we cuddled in the grass.

3. Braiding and beading hair with Jhaskiline and Melissa.

4. Jumping waves at the beach with Edely and Ederly.

5. Laughing hysterically with 5-year-old Love Findia when we said the exact same thing at the EXACT same time.

Five things I'm looking forward to in the States

1. These people - and MORE!

2. Shopping for myself and my classroom.

3. In-n-Out Burger, Eegees, Mexican food, Chinese food, yogurt, berries...I could go on!

4. Spending a bit of time scrapbooking - a hobby I never indulge in while in Haiti.

5. Getting curriculum! (Still praying for funds to purchase it!)

Five Prayers

1. My temporarily state-side roommate whom I love and miss!

2. My time in the states.  Time with friends, travel plans, and speaking engagements.

3. Curriculum, curriculum, CURRICULUM!

4. Praise for 2 amazing weeks of VBS.

5. Praise for safety at the beach!

Five Art Projects

1. Watercolor - snapshots of Haiti

2. Horcruxes

3. Beaded fish that remind us to follow Jesus like the disciples

4. Drawing Bible stories...no, this one is NOT mine

5. The simple joy of paper chains
